2006 Swift+ - Stalling and carbon buildup - Looking for Help!!
Hi All,
I'm a new member, but was intrigued by all the wise content I stumbled upon here when looking for some help.
I'm looking for some advice. I'll try and lay out the story as best as I can without being too long-winded.
My wife bought a brand new 2006 Suzuki Swift+ (before we were married!)
-Running rough at 6k, brought into Suzuki dealership where purchased
-Code P0300 Random misfire codes detected, mostly on cylinder 3
-Shop did a bunch of tests; eventually decided to replace the cylinder head
-Waited over 2 weeks for backordered parts
Just over a year later, at 20k
-Engine running rough again, check engine light on
-Brought into dealership; P0300 code again
-Dealership claims the oil level was over full due to last service
-Recommend we pay for full injection service/decarb treatment (and we did)
-Engine appears to be running fine again when we left (-$200)
Again, a year later at 30k
-Car now STALLS while driving; can't even get out of street
-Get towed to dealership; all the same issues
-Dealership notes that leak down test of cylinder 3 results are concerning
OK, so this is where we are at now. Car is at the dealership and they want us to take it home and drive it for 1.5k. Following this, they want to do an oil consumption check - Threshold of 1L/1500k before Suzuki Canada will do anything. Otherwise, they say "their hands are tied." They have acknowledged that there is a problem with this engine, but I don't know what exactly (I'm not particularly techy). Dealer claims he wants to put a new engine in, but tech in Toronto won't let them until oil consumption results come back positive.
I'm thinking the car will not burn 1L of oil that quickly - Any ideas???
I figure there's no way we should have a new car and have stalling problems every year...and yet Suzuki can say that their hands are tied. We haven't done anything wrong...driven normally and got routine service done.
Any advice at all is great! Thx!
