Default 2001 swift, Stalling, Corrosion, and Surging

2001 swift, 124K miles. New owner.

1 Battery Corrodes really bad, few hours and its back. Clean regularly, Any causes? Alternator, would be my guess.

2. Surges will either hinder or actually go faster, problem has progressed over time.
Fuel pump, filter and fuel Injectors? any thing else i should check? I have no idea where these are on this model of car

3 in mid to hot weather, car will stall when idleing. I have NO clue on this one. previous owner stated that the car had Vapor Lock?

Id appreaciate any feed back. I don't really want to take it to a mechanic, or at least try what I can before I need to. I usually work on my VW (pretty typical lol ) so Im new to these cars.

Thanks.

The best thing you can do is to check and clean all the connections. Start at the battery and reclean those. Then the ground from the battery to chassis and trans/engine. Also check and clean the starter and alternator connections. These are kinda tight areas, but it will need done. Also look for small ground strap wires on the back of the intake and make sure those are good.

If this does nothing, we will need to get a fuel pressure gauge, hook it to the fuel system, tape the gauge to the windshield so you can see it and monitor the pressure while driving.
