Unhappy 99 swift will not start

ENGINE turn's over but won't start... no smell of gas in cylinders.
Checked fuel pump..OK ; checked code : said bad crankshaft position sensor ; got new one but still will not start... checked both sensor's.. resistance both read about the same... old 435 and new 430 ohms. What started out as a simple oil pan gasket seal replacement and CV joint replacement change out due to busted boots has me stumped...What am I missing...

Re-torqued sensor ... still will not start...???

Did it start doing this after replacing the oil pan gasket? If so, tighten the crankshaft position sensor "the sensor mounted along the lip of your oil pan" a little more. I too replaced my oil pan gasket about a year ago, and my 1999 swift wouldnt start, and progressed to being just a hard hot start. Took me nearly a year to figure out that the crank shaft position sensor was not tight enough. You may have noticed that the oil pan gasket is somewhat spongy. The tolerance between the sensor and crankshaft is VERY small. That gasket has to be squished down enough so that the sensor can detect the crankshaft. If you tighten it abit and it starts but you have hot start problems, it still needs to be tightened some more. As little as a a half a turn on that bolt can be the ticket. Aparently suzuki has a bullitin on this problem, and actually suggests just using a bead of silcone gasket goo. I am using the true gasket with no problems right now. Good luck!
