Default Weak Spark on 94 Metro 1.0L

Hi, I’m a first time poster on this site.

I have a strange problem with a Metro that I hope someone here may have a solution to.

I’m a diesel mechanic, and I rebuild Military equipment, this little car is driving me nuts.

It is a 94, four door, with an auto trany. I can get the 1.0-liter engine to turn over but it has a very weak spark.

I tried a new coil and I still have the same problem.

I tried a distributor off another geo that was runnable.

I tried a ECM out of another geo of the same year and configuration.

I tried any other modules I found under the dash that would plug in.

I tried making sure all the ground connections are good.

I tried a new cap and rotor.

I checked all the fuses.

I went up and down the wire harness in the engine compartment to see if anything was apparently wrong, and found nothing.

It’s nuts I can get a spark right from the coil, but it is real weak and will not even jump the gap between the rotor and the cap.

any help would be great,
Thanks,
AmGeneral

amgeneral... sounds like you've pretty much covered it. You might want to check that you're getting a full 12V to the coil.
