Wood Stove in the Back........

Hi all, I am not new to Metro's and the like, nor am I new to turning wrenches. I am curious though, if anyone has any suggestions as to my heat dilemma? I have no heat. I've thought of putting a wood stove in the back.. kidding. A list of what I have done, Thermostat, Rad flush and New coolant and a Quick visual that heater hoses aren't looped together bypassing the heater core (made that mistake once). Do the Metro's run a coolant valve in their heater circuit? I know I can't see one in the engine bay, (I like to call it that, makes it seem bigger!) and it's hard to see up in the dash.
Before any of you ask, yes it's running at proper temperature and the blower motor is running. The temp lever on the dash seems to make noise, not sure if it is an inlet flap to the outside or a coolant valve. It just simply blows cold air. At 10 degrees celsius, 50 F, it blows warm air, but nothing to write home about. Just can't figure this one out.

Temp gauge should read about dead center at all times when warm. You said you replaced a fow parts, so I think you may have air trapped in the system. Jack the front of the car up so the rad cap is higher than the engine and run with the cap off to purge air. This may take up to 30 minutes, so be patient.

Another possibility is the heater core is gunked up. Remove both heater core hoses and try to backflush with a garden hose and note the crap coming out.

Thanks, I will try both. I can't imagine there being air still in the system though. I changed the thermostat a few thousand kilometers ago, and drive up hills, down etc. Should have worked out the bubbles by now....

Compare the temperature of the two heater hoses with the car warmed up and the heater dash control in hot position. If both are cold then you aren't getting any coolant flow through the hoses. If one is hot and one is cold then there's no flow through the heater core. The hose going into the heater should be hot and the one coming out should be warm, but not cold. If that's correct then you need to check the controls on the heater box and dash.

I had the same problem in my sidekick, there was very little coolant flowing thru the heater core. I disconnected the 2 hose to the heater core and power washed inside of the core with hot water, must be easy with the amount of presure u use. i noticed my core was plugged up with a white paste crap. now heat works amazing. doesnt take long to do.
PS. B4 replacing the core hoses back on, plug the lower one and pour in CLR let it side for 15 mins and rince, then replace the hoses .
