Default 94 1.0 Lifter Noise

I have a 1994 Geo Metro Canadian made with American specs 1.0 three cylinder. The problem is that it sounds like the lifters are making alot of noise. The engine has 134,000 miles on it. I change the oil every 3,000 miles, as i use the car for a paper route So I change the oil and filter (5w30 oil) about every two months or so. Here in the past month this noise has gotten worse. I went to the maintenance manual to see how to adjust the vavles, but it shows that the cam shaft is on top of the valves in stead of what the book shows. To make this long story short is the any way of adjusting the valves or lifters to stop the noise????

The only way to make that noise go away for good is to remove all the lifters and take them apart and clean them. Don't lose any pieces and keep them in order.

You could also try SeaFoam found at parts stores. Put 1/3 into the oil 1/3 into the fuel tank, and the remaining 1/3 will get slowly poured down the throttle body with a warm, running engine. Keep your hand on the throttle to keep it from stalling and after it's all in, shut down and wait 5 minutes. Take it for a ride after that.

Note: The smoke may be extreme!

Thanks for that information, I will try the Sea Foam first as it will be the easy way at first.
