Default broken windscreen

Hi, new on here, hope somebody can help. I have a 2007 swift s that I bought new in December. I noticed it had a cracked windscreen 2 months ago. I didn't notice any stones hitting the car at any time so it was real surprise to see it cracked. Anyway my dad looked at at and couldn't see an impact point at all, neither could I. He told me it looked like a stress crack. It starts from the very centre of the screen at the top and travels 30 40 cms down. I took it to the dealer where I bought the car and had it booked in for a service check. The service person looked at the car and ran a ball point pen down the crack and said he could feel the impact point easily so it was not covered by warranty. I still didn't see the impact point, dad did the same, probably stupid test, with the ball point pen and could not locate any such impact point. Last week I finally saved up the money...I am a tertiary student...to get the screen replaced. The windscreen fitter asked as soon as he saw it if it was a warranty claim because it looked like a stress crack to him. He couldn't find an impact point either. He suggested I contact Suzuki and ask them to pay for the screen under warranty...he says he has replaced quite a few on this model recently.

To cut a long story short Suzuki Australia has denied the claim we made through their customer relations due to the fact that we have had the screen replaced already......!!!!!..and they aren't able to assess it. Furthermore they won't give us this information in writing - it is not their policy!

I have two questions, does anybody else have a similar experience with Suzuki Australia and secondly how many owners out there with the same model have had a broken windscreen where there has been no impact from stones. thanks in advance Jess.

I'm not much help, but it makes total sense that they wouldn't warrant the glass if you already had it replaced!

NO it doesn't make sense, their agent, the new car sales/service people, examined the vehicle prior to the windscreen being replaced and denied the claim then!

I don't know about your area, but taking it to another dealer for a second opinion may have helped, but then again, maybe not.

Default I own 3 Swifts

I bought 3 swifts for my computer repair company and all 3 had broken windscreens. Today my third one just crack. No impact, it just cracked. This is no good an I ask all swift owners to ask Suzuki for a refund for the repair of their windscreens. They would by now know that there is a fault with the disign of the car or the windscreens they put in. Its not normal wear and tear

Guys,
do you have the picture showing the break..erm, crack?
I can post mine here and we will see whther it is in similar pattern.

Mine cracked but was denied claim. They told me they is impact on the windscreen, if there is an impact, wouldn't be like the pattern of "spider web" or "fireworks"? As far as i know Suzuki Swift windscreen has the tendency of cracking. Some of the lucky ones got it replaced from the dealers.

I am in Malaysia

Every time I have been back to the dealer, they "find" somthing that cased the crack. Well just like the tyres, they have used cheap products to keep the price down. They are a good car and they are cheap.
