Has anyone had any experience using a glue-type split boot for the outer CV joint on a Geo or anything else? The fellow I talked to at Rockauto, which offers them, said he did not recommend them....that it would likely last a couple months and then come apart and start throwing grease everywhere.
I can see where trying to make a glue bond on something filled with grease could be tricky, but I do a lot of odd jobs with contact cement and understand the importance of clean surfaces, proper temperature range, surface roughening, brushing the glue into the surfaces well, good assembly pressure, post-cure wait and re-pressurize, etc.
