93 metro auto door locks

my 93 4 door metro has automatic locking doors. My problem is that after they lock if you want to get out at your stop you have to manually unlock the door. not a big deal, but if you try to open the door first without unlocking them you have to roll the window down, lift the exterior handle then unlock from the inside. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Get under the plastic kick pannel on each side and unplug them where the go into the doors, Ken.
