Default chevy sprint, metro block?

I have a 92 metro 1.0 with rod bearing or something knocking. Haven't got into it yet.
Need to know if my head would bolt up to the sprint block. It is an 88 or 89. I didn't look very close for lack of time but I did see 993cm on the chevy.

And if it will would this be a smart move? This engine is going to be cheap for me to get.

I think all 1.0L heads and blocks are interchangeable.
If the engine is going to be cheap, go for it!
