Thanks for the info. I can see the cover as being a way to protect the belt from debris/dust/moisture, and to keep it from flying out if it were to break. Other then that, I can't really see any value to it, so i won't worry about it for now. I'm going to the junk yard in the near future to see about a hood, so I might look for one there. If I decide I think I want one, i'll let you know though, thanks.

How long of a job is the distributor o-ring, and were can the kit be purchased from? Seems pretty quick and easy (maybe an hour or two), but maybe i'm missing something.

Thanks.

Actually it's only a few minutes. Take out both bolts that are used to adjust distributor and slide it out, I'd take the o-ring with me to get a new one since you may have to match it up. When you put it back in if you can't line it up take off distributor cap and use rotor to help turn it till it lines up and slide back in. If you don't have a big enough torx to do the bolts just do it with small vise grips. I replaced mine with regular bolts.

I looked at it again last night, and I am pretty sure that is where the leak is from. It does look like it would be easy. Is that o-ring available at any parts store, or is that a dealer item?

Thanks again, this has been a very helpful site already.

As many have said, you can have the cover removed. No prob with that.

The O-ring....well I usually find them on Pep-boys or Advance Auto.
Just make sure the size is correct and is made for auto applications.
Remember to lube it a little with oil or WD40. Its easier to slide it back in.
