Default Headlight dysfunction - 91 Geo Metro

I have a strange problem. My headlights don't work when I turn them on. The parking lights, the tail lights, all other lights work, but not the headlights. We tried replacing them, but it did no good. We have the lights rigged right now, where we can pull back the light switch to turn on the high beams. If we flip that switch forward, as we're supposed to be able to do to turn on the high beams, nothing happens. If we hold it back, the brights are on!!!!

What could be causing my car's lights not to be working? I think all the fuses are good, by the way.

Sounds like a faulty Switch at Steering Wheel (or Dash)

Thanks, forsa87. It's on the dash, in my case. I'll be replacing it ASAP.

I just fixed a 96 Metro with the same problem, it was the lower right wire was burned in the lower right 6 wire plug in the fuse panel by your left knee. My brother's 94 swift had the same problem and looks like someone fixed it with a butt connector. I'm not sure which wires they spliced.

It seems like the fuse panel is an issue with the headlights. Just unplug the lower right 6wire plug and you will see the burned connection. I was lucky, I just cleaned it and it worked again.

I had the same problem on my 95. someone on here told me to mess with the plugs at the fuse panel under the dash below the steering wheel. i did that and now they are working fine. it's worth a shot anyway. good luck
