Suzuki Swift 2001.

I have the engine warning light coming on when I do right turns at sustained speed. Normally it turns itself off after 10 to 20 seconds.

Today the outside temperature is -28 deg Celsius and this light stayed on until I was doing a left turn.

I have checked my oil level and it is fine.

Should I worried about this problem or just ignore it?

Any clue of what could cause this.

I was thinking this was just cause by suction of the oil pump getting dry when the oil in the oil pan would shift to the side of the car in a turn due to the centrifugal force.

Now that the light stays on, it looks like the problem should come from somewhere else.

I would replace the sensor. If the light is coming on in the turns I would be concerned because it only has to starve the pick up once to completely destroy the motor. If the bearing loose there oil wedge once you could spin the bearings or damage the crank.

It may also just be the wire harness to the sensor that is damage as most sensors of this nature are just a simple open or closed contacts to function. If you test it with a multimeter with the car running and not running you will quickly see what I mean.

I would also reccomend trying to run 5W30 in place of 10W30 if you are not already as it will stay more fluid in colder temperatures and once warm have the same properties as any other W30.
