When you start your car from cold, it should rev to about 2000 rpm or so, drop about 500 rpm to 1500 rpm in about 5-10 seconds as the throttle opener closes, and then sloely drop to 800 rpm warm idle. You seem to advise that your car is doing this, right? You need to first confirm that the car is timed and tuned properly - a compression test, done with the gas pedal to the floor as you are cranking, will confirm your timing (post your results). Plugs should be gapped to .028", and not used out of the box. What are the condition of the plugs? Have you ever changed the o2 sensor on the car - it is a service point at 100,000 miles, and fails lean (making the car run very rich) when it's failing. Is your check engine light on with the key on, and off once the car starts??
