Yesterday I changed my intake manifold on my 1993 sidekick 1.6L manual transmission 4x4. When I got everything put back together I started it and it was smoking alot but running fine. I turned it off to try to locate the issue. I started it again and it ran worse than before and still smoked. The next time I started it, it barely ran and now it won't start. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be

Color of the smoke might help you figure this out.

Black would be from soot from to much fuel.
White would be steam... coolant or some kind of water.
Gray/blue would be oil.

sounds like water/coolant. I hope you used regular water, not antifreeze.

If water is making it into the cylinders, it is possible to "hydro lock" the motor.

Pulling the spark plugs should give you an idea.

if anti-freeze gets in the cylinder it can make it into the oil. Besides not being a very good lubricant (like water) Antifreeze can chemically damage the bearings.

Along with everything else... check your oil.

It sounds like you have a leak at the intake manifold, did you check the replacement for flatness? are you sure that you have the correct gasket?
