I'm knot into bashing things to much...but I do want to put this out there for anybody considering buying one of these. I know I said something about this on another tread...but there's more. If your planning to run your original exhaust you have some work ahead of you. You will have to grind a 1/2 in notch in the back flange of the engine plus the bellhousing right where they meet...the flange that bolts to the header on the down pipe gets tangled up right there. If that's not bad enough you will have to get under there with a torch and rebend all the hangers that go to your rubber block hangers so the exhaust can shift to the passenger side about 11/2 in. Why you asked? Well just so the exhaust will meet square on that donut gasket and not leak like hell. I think they have got there jig... that they make these to... off:eek: There's no reason to have this header drop out at this angle so close to the engine. Don't think these are just a quick exchange for you old busted manifold. They take a lot of work... if you want them in right.

Hi girl...Yea I guess there alright...I'm just not into aftermarket parts that much...seems like the crap always gives you trouble one way or another.

I have spent the better part of this morning searching for the entire exhaust that would go with your header. I'm just curious if the entire exhaust, irregardless of the price, would be a trouble free installation. I can't find anything! I did find one guy that put 2" exhaust, and claims it sounds fantastic, but I don't want to hear my exhaust! I want a quiet ride. I did order the little exhaust gaskets and the exhaust pipe that goes from the exhaust manifold to the catalytic converter but will be a couple weeks before I can get to it.
Ed, it would be nice to document your installation and how you overcome the obstacles. You really need to take pictures and post them dear;) I use photobucket, it's a free service. I'd like to see what you're up against, plus would be nice to see your tracker;)

Dn'e... Kid like I have told you... I am so old school...that I still take pictures with a old Minolta XG9 film camera. I kind'a like the old ways...but it would be nice to be able to put pictures on this computer...but not worth all the crap I would need to do it with. Besides you people wouldn't get to make fun of me... and I wouldn't get to write all this crap. Listen' I think your better off going with the Bosel donut gasket...alittle more money...but just a better way to go (woven stainless) jmo ps you'll get a kick out of this...laying on a creeper doing all this under the truck...had the torch under there so I could bend all the brackets with a pair of plyers... I droped those hot plyers right in my armpit with a tank top on. IT AINT PRETTY lol

Eek!

:( Now that's about the worst thing I've heard in a while! ED ED ED! Luckily we humans are lucky enough to eventually heal! Imagine what we would look like if wounds never healed!
I already have the gaskets coming, I guess I can check into what you're talking about. I don't want to make a habit of working on exhaust!^_^

Advance Auto sells them, also Rock Auto...I just put in my extra ECU that I bought on E Bay for $125.00 IT WORKS GREAT what a good feeling it is knowing I have this back up. I'm going to go ahead and run this one I just got... and save my 76000 mile original for my spare. I love it when a plan comes together!!!

Gee, I guess this is Big Ed and Dne's Suzuki Forum;) I would have thought others would have been interested in the Calamari header!

It's nice to get a deal every now and then isn't it! Kind of helps justify some of the other costs.

I'll check with Rockauto, just bought some stuff from them~ kind of difficult navigating their site, but they do offer better prices! I would think some day there may not be any auto part stores as we know them today! Parts for cars will be all online!:(

I'll tell you one other thing...if you ever have to take your exhaust manifold off...don't go back with the Fel Pro gasket...trust me stick with the original stainless one that's on it. The holes on the Fel Pro are to big and it doesn't leave enough meat at the bottom of the ports...a lousy 1/8 in of gasket ain't gonna cut it. Rock Auto is a clearing house for a lot of auto parts outfits...they don't stock auto parts they just clear stock for everybody its great!

hi i have a 92 4dr 1.6 16v with the stock manifold . i had my exhaust replaced from the manifold back with a 2" set up. the exhaust shop cut the pipe at the back of the flange a head of the cat 2" pipe fit. he welded a section of pipe in installed a magnaflow high flow perfomance cat bent up a section of 2" pipe put in a 2" thrush turbo muffler and custom bent the tail pipe so it exits out the back on a 45 deegree angle. that way if you have the gate open and the engine running you do not get gased out .the muffler and cat are in the stock location .it has good tone and not much louder .he said there was a thrush turbo silm line it is a little thiner so it sits higher but it had to be specail orderd .
