Thumbs up

Shame on me for my lack of info, sorry guys. It's a 2wd 5 spd Manuel trans.
And just so you have an idea of what I already got off, I thought my problem was a blown head gasket so I already got the head off. Too bad 3 cylinders were filled with oil. Thanks for the help everyone.

2wd, no tranfer case.
see my page, at what step does it fail.?

are you pulling just the motor
or the tranny and motor, the latter is much easier,
using engine puller (davit crane)? , give hints
ive pulled motors with fork lifts, tree + block and tackle. and chain hoists.

just 1 lil clue....

my page is worst case, motor only,.
with motor and trans, its very easy. but need room to tilt motor and tranny steep.
?

I'm using an engine chain hoist. Oh and I was gonna pull the engine apart from the tranny, but if its easier together I could just bolt it back together. Well like I said I already got the head off, so no exhaust to worry about. I got the 6 motor mount bolts off, I removed the engine to tranny bolts on the top ( two bolts on each side) and that's where I'm stuck. I just can't find anymore bolts.

always remove bell hosing bolts , bottom up, never the reverse. (and is last) step 44
the bell to engine has collets preventing the bell from turning. and starter must come off.
there are engine to tranny side mounts. see them.?

you skipped step 35?/36?
this is 4sp but 5sp has 2 part id 19s seen here.
http://www.fixkick.com/tranny/slush/03-72LE1.jpg

see collet in 11AM (there are 2 in the bell.. preventing spinning the bell, so bell most be push to the rear only. (or motor forward) the engine holds the tranny up in front.
so tranny needs support, to keep in in the car.

If you have unbolted everything and followed all the procedures talked about above then you might have to get physical with it.
The dowel pins between the block and the trany may be seized & may be keeping the two together. Be careful not to damage the mating surfaces.
Or your transmission input shaft may be stuck in the pilot bearing on the flywheel. Or the clutch plate may be hung up on the splines.
You might be in for a bit of a fight, be careful but remember they weren't created as one piece so they have to come appart.

sure
a chain
at intake bolt
and exh bolt.

you can buy the hook tabs at most car stores.
or make them.

my motor pull page show that. in the slide show.
here is 1 photo of the set.

see my rings ( flat metal with 2 holes, you can make them or buy them)
in fact at a wreckers (any) you can pull them off 100s of engines there.... vast.
