Default Fuel tank question

How interchangeable are the fuel tanks? I have a '95 Tracker that needs a new gas tank. Looking at used ones out of a '98 and '91.... Will either of these options work?
Thanks!

The one form the 91 should work. However keep in mind fuel tanks have a bad habit of rotting away...

Keep in mind also that a brand new fuel tank can be had for around $100 shipped. This is the one I ordered for Tetanus.

Replacement ARBS670101 Fuel Tank | Auto Parts Warehouse

$115.29 + free shipping... However use the coupon code "welcome10" and you can get it for $103.76 with free shipping.

Fuel level sending unit...

AC Delco 30000151 Fuel Sending Unit | Auto Parts Warehouse
$87.53 with free shipping... It does not qualify for the 10% discount.

Rock auto has it for $46.79
More Information for ACDELCO 30000151

If you order from APW give them a call and tell them rock auto has it cheaper. They might match it.

Here is the fuel pump sending unit...
http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...gs+Best+Seller

$78.98 and it will qualify for the 10% discount.

By the way the new fuel tank comes with gaskets and new screws.

the 4door has the deep take
with the short 2door pump rake it sucks air.
if long pump rack in short tank it hits and can fit.

bad advice above.
go to specra premium dot com ,look up your car in the ecat.
bingo, the facts.
rads and tanks the tanks are the best made with plating inside, last for ever.
you get what you pay for....

please, put full car spec in sig
so answers get 100 times better

I didn't know there was a 1995 four door Geo tracker? I thought CAMI didn't make a 4 door geo until 96?

I will stand by the tank I posted. The baffles are correct and everything fits perfect. It is exactly the same as an OEM tank right down to weight and metal thickness. The only difference is it is galvanized. Tetanus has had well over 1500 trouble free miles with many fill up visits. Everything sealed up pretty and bolted on with no issue.

I don't believe that the larger 4 door gas tank will work (and its 14 gallons, apparently, so much nicer than the stock 11 gallon on the 2 door), as the frame of the 4 door where the tank attaches, is spaced differently, so its not a straight swap.
