the tcc contains many parts, not just a command from the ecu,
this is the torque convert clutch lockup device failing, well at least the brain dead
ecu thinks so..... a tech , then varifies, it really is bad, then does diagnosis
to find the true cause. a $5 relay, a $25 solid or a bad clutch lock....etc...
the ECU (EFI) system can operate in many modes.
perfect running , and all the way down to
or limp home. are 2 of the many modes. (or even worse backup mode)
they all seem to run ok, (black clouds and low power and misfire not noticed)
i guess you have no smog testing? that be the first question/?
a bad tcc just drops MPG a tad, due to clutch slip all the time
the 400s, cause NOX polution, acid rain, etc.
the heater bad causes wasted fuel , all the time (most ,to all)
Id fix the 02 first, just to cut down on the carbon buildup and wasted fuel.
the carbon build up problemly packed up the EGR too. so is a first order fix. in my book. but it is your puppy,
Not quite sure I understand. For the FSM to be 'downloadable anywhere' do you not need an internet connection? It is downloadable chapter by chapter, so perhaps while you are working on one specific area, you download the chapter that you need, print it out and take it with you to where the car is, no??

Of course you need an internet connection to download a service manual, however I was asking if there was one .pdf file that was downloadable for the complete service manual instead of the online one avaliable.
We don't have internet in the shop, but do have a computer. All of our tractor, ATV, other vehicle service manuals we have loaded onto the computer (downloaded from another location and transferred on shop computer via USB drive).
I don't mind printing chapter at a time, but for our setup it was a bit handier to have the complete FSM.pdf so I was just asking if that was available but apparently it is not.
Anyways, swapped out the relay and did the 45 mph light brake/gas test and the RPM's don't bump up at all.
first off there are no 98 pdf's. , in one, or even 100 chapters
no man on earth is crazy enough to scan ,what, 800 pages? by hand.? 3 volumes!
not yet, and maybe never (you volunteer? LOL;?)
you can at any time down load all those pages, and them use adobes
add all pages to one.
any time.
it be freak'n huge...
make one,
or buy the real fsm on ebay.
there are some full fsm on line for EU cars. i have some but dont match USA spec cars

Oh wow, purchased! I'm a fool for not even looking at that assuming they were very expensive. The last FSM I bought was for my scout 80 and a scanned copy was 85 dollars!!
its a used book,
and as each car is crashed, a book gets sold
or the dealer shuts down( read chapter 11 yet? ) more books.
and these guys on fleabay hoard them. (not bad, we need em.)
is see cd's sold from time to time, all are illegal. selling this.
but i see cd selling sites go down all time time. right now there are nil.
my chevy 04 rtracker the cd is legit.
first pdf was 1993 from Adobe, and car makers were slow adopting this standard.
now a IS0 standard.
my guess is 1999 is first suzuki real cd? dont know ,just a guess.
i see them sold in EU. for 98 suz, grand vitara's ..
your welcome, im happy even with old greasy or water damaged FSM books.
hope yours look MINT @!
love the camo! i bought my tracker for the same reasons, a side by side for offroading would be too expensive. going to go camo with mine as well eventually
Just rambling here, but I'm looking through my new FSM and see all three codes I have say in the end of each step to replace the PCM. Haven't gotten to tinker with rig yet but what are the chances it is a bad PCM? Is that something you guys see often?
