Hello, I have had 3 trackers in the past, wife loves them, but i have a problem with her tracker that i cannot solve. The drivers side window would roll down about 3 inches then stop. I took off the doorpanel and removed the plastic liner so i could possibly see what was going on. anyway I could not see anything and forced the window down. needless to say it will not roll back up now. I took out the regulator and realized that one of the cables was disconected. I do not know what it was connected to? The cable at the center is where i think it is supposed to be but where does the other cable connect to? Is there anywhere i can see a diagram of how this cable system works? Right now i have a stick wedged in the door holding the window closed. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Your original problem, prior to forcing the window, I believe, was that the window glass is not balanced properly on the window regulator. In any event, as the cable is now broken, unless it broke on the very end of the cable, you will need a new regulator (you can get one in a junkyard. Bear in mind that if your regulator is from the driver's door, you will need a driver's side regulator). When you replace the regulator, it is quite fiddly to get the glass just in the right place. You will have to fiddle with it to get it into just the right places so that the glass goes down completely straight and doesn't get hung up on the window tracks on each side of the door, which I believe was your original problem. Here is a diagram:
Thanks Bex, the picture you show does not help me much as I cannot make out where the cables go. I do not see anything broken but then again I have a cable that is not attached to anything. The plastic piece on the end of the cable looks fine as does the cable end, where does it go? I may not know what I am talking about but isn't the regulator the part that the cables wind up on? If so where do the other cables go?
Look at post 9 here: http://www.suzuki-forums.com/suzuki-...regulator.html
The regulator cable is continuous, running around the 3 connections shown in the diagram in the first post above.
This poster here 'rebuilt' his regulator, but I believe was only able to do so as the cable end became disconnected. If the cable breaks somewhere in the middle, it is impossible to repair. For $20 from a junk yard, it is easier just to replace it. http://www.suzuki-forums.com/suzuki-...r-rebuild.html
Thank you very much Bex, this is what I needed to see. I am a very visual person. Once I see it I understand what you have been telling me. I will be looking for a new ,well used, good regulator. Thanks again You people are great on this site.
are the right side and left side interchangeable or can the be a fix or rig to make them work? need drivers side, but will have to search at junk yard, also if i have a 95 tracker 8v, 1.6 auto, 2wd, what years are most body parts interchangeable?
thanks in advance for the extra headaches avoided!!
Mr G.

No, drivers side regulator is inverted to passenger side. You must do drivers side to drivers side.
Most parts 89-95 (exception of soft top, which is 95-98) will fit on your car, but check first on the forum, just in case. Number of doors must be the same for most things, etc.
No, they are not interchangeable. If you need the drivers side that is what you have to order. As far as parts go I am not sure. I had 94 and 2 -95 trackers and the only difference i could tell you about is the softops are different from 94 to 95 and the 95's have fuel injection which makes a large difference in performance.
Huh? They all have 'fuel injection' unless they are carburetor engines (very early and not normally in USA). The engines are either 8v (single injected throttle body) or 16v (4 injectors), and most years (for Sidekicks) have both (2 door or 4 door).....
