Those spacers are the type that go inbetween the coils on the springs and it's definitely not what you want, because they will increase your spring rate and reduce spring travel. You need spacers that go between the top of the springs and the spring seat. They cost more and take more effort to install, but the results will be worth it.

Basic and Complete 2 Inch Spacer Budget Lift Kits

I already have brand new shocks in the rear are these any different? do i need the additional shocks they include?

I have brand new monroe shocks on the rear..are these extended ones that are necessary?

Those shocks are extended it will give you a better ride but you can use what you have.. try an sell the ones you have to someone else. Or return them either way.

hmm i got them from us auto parts i'm not sure i'd be able to return them, maybe sell them on craigslist or something. Will it be a big deal if I don't put them on though? I know you said I can use what I have but now that I'm doing this i want to do it right

Spacer lift does not allow for additional travel. I use the stock shocks but change the mount point the same amount as the lift. The rear shocks are used for dampening but they also limit droop. Too much droop and the springs can get out....happened to me when the shock mount failed. The stock mount failed not my mod. May have been the constant hard usage....naaa

My 2" spacers look like these, but mine are made of some miracle plastic:

I don't have the two pieces shown on the far right here though, and I don't know if these negate the need to flip the front strut mounts (which I did on my lift), or whether they negate the need to buy longer rear shocks, which I had to do.

Here's the full link for this item:

I did some reading re longer shocks. Crown vic shocks cover this but are from a big heavy car and will turn your soft riding, back friendly car into a shopping cart. Save the pain look for another way
