Oh yeah, I keep my harness bundled up inside the left rear fender (in front of the taillight) and pop off the internal vent grill when I need to use it and route it out under the tailgate.

Reason: added last sentence
I dug a bit deeper and saw a cable / plug that was folded and taped to the harness about on top of the fender; and I think the plug is blue. Has like 6 or 8 cables attached to it.
Seems to have all the color code cables for a trailer.
Hi, new to site, a search brought me here. I have a 95 suzuki sidekick ljx and I purchased the connector linked above. I have a problem. My jack is under the front passenger seat vs the rear drivers side speaker compartment. I have checked both speaker compartments in the rear and do not see an extra connector or a piece of blue tape. I got a curt hitch and trailer light controler I would like to install just in case and would love any help.
Maybe this is related, but my right side speakers do not play. I ran a new wire to the front and guess I need to do the rear? The HVAC under the hood where it sucks in air was full of crap and looks like water was leaking inside down the front passenger side floor well. Got that fixed and a host of other problems.
Ill video it. I looked and saw a connector that was connected to a wire that went to the other side. I crawled under the vehicle and found a rubber square connector. When I pulled that out I got a face full of dirt . Inside it was the same wire that went through the middle. I hate to start hacking and whacking, but nothing is on top of the fender. Ill give the lamp another pull and see whats back there. Thanks.
