I sold it 2 years ago and was participating in some offroad competitions just as a co-pilot, took 3rd place with my friend with 91 Suzuki Vitara swapped to 1.9 Turbo Diesel from VW.
For everyday use I have '03 BMW 330xi - sedan but still 4X4
1 months ago I bought '89 Suzuki Vitara 1.6 G16A 8V Manual Transmission, off-course 4X4.
Engine sounds and works good, there are noices in transmission.
Body - just Rust
Frame - demaged right side with rust.
But I know that we can do a something from this and started building process.
Short Plan:
1. With existing Engine and Transmission + body and suspension lift, 32 Geolander MT, 9000 Winch - TR1;
2. + J20A swap with 4 speed AT + Insa Turbo - TR2.
Hope you got it on the cheap. Looks like it needs a lot of work.

I have dismantled it from inside and outside
It is from Europe, I think this car is in Georgia for more than 5-6 years for minimum. But all we know that the rust is the problem of all vitara/tracker/sidekicks despite the place of use. Just Escudos are in good shape with low mileage from Japan. But I didn't wanted right handed vehicle.
It runs very well, as I already told engine and transmission works good. Undercarriage needs minor repairments, but as I plan to make suspension lift it;s ok. Anyway I have to change springs, shock absorbers and so on.

Yes I have got it very cheaply. It needs lot of work, but here in our country labour is not so expensive as in USA and it's makes sense to rebuild it if you have got it cheaply.
If you will see my previous project you can see that old one wasn't in much more better condition.

She's a keeper!
I'm he and project already started. I will update the progress with photos and comments.
Ah, we will not have many links for parts, etc., that will be close to you, but I imagine that, since you have once done this before, you will still have contacts where you can get parts, etc., that you might need. Closest links we might have to you would be UK, but this might be too far away for you. ????? Looking forward to seeing photos of the work as it progresses.
I'm buying almost everything in USA and then shipping it to my country - for just $8 per kg. So I'm using e-bay, rockauto and many other online shops, but some specialized or private low-cost sellers will be usefull.
