Default Side gear swap on front differential

Can someone clarify how this is done? I've got the front differential sitting on my workbench and curious about this sidegear swap for my 96 sidekick. I've got a set of 5.63 gears. Do I need to pull the ring and pinion apart?

Is there some instructions that I can find somewhere?

Thanks,

I hope you got the carriers with those gears. If thats the case its plug and play, nearly anyway. Your gear set may be specific to the carrier. I know the dana 30 from cherokees cant just swap out, you must have the proper carrier. I pulled my traks rears (both trackers) all apart to spool them up with little trouble. I had to do a pattern and retorque but no real problems

I've got the complete carrier with ring and pinion in the complete 3rd member. I haven't taken down my original 5.12 gears yet to see if there is a difference, but from what I understand, the side gears must be changed out.

I've checked my repair manual to see if there were instructions, but no luck in the Haynes manual. I'll first either count the splines or see if my CV joints will fit, if not, then I know I'll need to do the swap.

Someone has to know what I have to tear down to change these things.
