Door hinges

Anyone have a solution to bad driver and passenger door hinges? I would like to replace with new, but cannot find any. Help! (96 geo tracker 2 door soft top 16 valve 4x4 automatic 168,000 miles)

Shoot these people an email OEM Suzuki Parts
Just ask for sidekick hinges...cheaper than using Tracker parts.

I bought mine from these guys Carjunky.com carjunky - Auto Parts and Accessories Catalog - Door Hinge - Suzuki Sidekick Door Hinge

I ordered a set for the drivers door and they were around $25 delivered to Nova Scotia Canada. Took about a week to arrive, I bought the cheap ones that were 5 or 6 bucks each. You can buy hinge pin replacement kits with new bushings and pins at most auto parts stores. Some people use old valve out of engines to replace the pins. good luck

Good find! I have never had a problem with my hinges but I have friends with older ones that have.

Maybe hinges can be repaired?

A machinist can even insert brass bushings so they last even more?

Yes its true that anything can be repaired with enough time-effort-money, but it is really cheaper to just replace them with new ones at $18.00 each. The problem was that I was unable (until now) to find new ones. I am going to take a look at how bad they really are this weekend when I remove them. I know the drivers side is bad, because the door rubs the lower skirt when I open it!

I had noticed that the area around the door "limiter" strap in the frame between the hinges had been brazed/welded and is cracked as well. I opened the door and the top bolts pulled out of the metal. Any suggestions? What do I need to remove to access the back side of the bolts to attempt a repair?

Geo has a "service bulletin" #731067, NHTSA# 54197 regarding "upper door hinge loosens from body"?
