Default ECM/PCM Source

I bought a refurb'd PCM/ECM for a non-Tracker yesterday from an outfit near Miami. Another tech standing next to me at the counter said they've been in the biz over 25 years and that he's never had an issue w/ their rebuilds. However, I've also read some negative comments about them on two other tech forums (IATN for one). They were packaging up two for shipment to Belgium and New Zealand as I stood waiting. A backup ECM outright for my 96 16V is $275 w/ black capacitors vs OEM blue ones (JTGH??). Auto Computer Exchange 888-664-8787. They're on the Web. Proceed w/ caution.

Default

just buy an ecu out right on fleebay. (sorry if Haiti is hard to do that)
$100 , be patient. (look for outrights) i got mine in 3 days waiting and watching.

then put in fresh caps ( yours are mostly good, the 96s are not known for bad caps)
only before 96.

$100 or less, and $3 for caps if any at all, just buy it and test it and be happy.

just ask seller for no DOA guarantted for 1 week of testing.

but you may be better served by ACE exchange. I hope it goes well for you.

Lets avoid shot gunning or guessing or working with out tools. I will help you the best I can! I can't see or hear/feel your motor, so consider my answers, in that light. You can rent most tools.
There are 2 diagnostic paths, one with tools and one without! Which way?
