Default 95 Geo Tracker Transmission Photo question

I have a 95, USA Geo Tracker, Automatic, 2 wheel drive. I was crawling around under it to change the oil when I noticed what looks like a little door panel missing at the bottom of the transmission. I bought a Haynes repair manual in hopes of finding what the door is and if it will hurt anything being gone. The book has just about everything except a picture of this little door. Can someone tell me what this door is for, it's name so I can order a new one, and if you know where I could find a new one that would be great as well. I have attached a picture looking up towards the transmission.

Thanks.

All that is, is an access panal at the bottom of the transmission so you can see up and in to look at the flywheel. U really don't need it but if you want one go ask for the transmission access panal on the bottom of the transmission.

Might have to go to a dealer to get it.

Is that a 3 speed transmission? Mine has the same hole, but I didn't think the 95 used the 3 speed.

I can get one at a junkyard around here if you really want it. Just put some duck tape on it now. You could go here and contact them: OEM Suzuki Parts

Or try your local Suzuki Dealership for the part even though mine told me a cable is discontinued yet I have one coming to my front door tomorrow... go figure.

Most likely made of rubber. Used to access the 4 torque converter bolts when removing the transmission. Always good to have in place-keeps road dirt and grime from entering.

I thought it was the trap door where the mice go in and out for shift change.

yes the 95 had the 3 speed i have a 95 and it has the 3 speed in it. that cover is made of plastic and i lost mine too. I use my tracker off road and in the mud all the time and never had a problem with the mud getting in there or causing any problems. you will be fine without it but if you want it then by all means get one.

id kill for a car with only that as an issue.
it stops the rats and mice from nesting and saves the TC bolts as they fall off.
few posts back , exactly.
