So developed a rather large leak in my 92 tracker (2wd 1.6) around the bottom of the front timing chain(belt) cover seens to be around the bottom corner drivers side. I've already done the pan gasket so I know it's not that . It doesn't start leaking until after a minute or two on the cold start... It just pukes down in a steady stream any ideas on what it is befor I start tearing it apart?
Yep crank or cam seal. Mine did the same. If it is due for a timing belt change might as well have it all done and change the water pump as well since it has to come off.
I believe that he means Front Valve Cover when he says VC
I didn't think of something that easy lol ... I put in a new crank and cam seal and have it all back together to the cover I need to pick up a used cover .. when I bought the crank seal it came in a kit with oil pump seal and o right ? is that a bitch to change it looks fine? i left it so if it wasn't the crank or cam seal guess i'll be pulling it back apart...
