The Tracker/Sidekick/Sunrunner is the US market and was the best 4x4 gas saver you will find aside from the Samuri which won't hold 55mph that well stock, ah...
Sad to hear that the ones I was pulling parts at in the junkyard got crushed. Their was an ECU that went with it, gah! Only $20 and I am sure someone could of used one on these forums. I believe a car market and designer should bring back this great ride, and allow comfort and add cruise control, power windows&locks and it would sell... design it to last and don't use what is currently out their as technology but the mid 98 era and it would be built to last. These new cars have no compensation for anything, my girlfriend has an 05 Dodge Neon SXT and it sounds worse on a cold start with under 80k than my 156k tracker on a cold start. Lastly it rides alot worse too with the same amount of road noise!

Really? We have them over here, and frankly I would think they would rreplace the Samurai, not the Sidekick. I don't know much about the mechanics, but they certainly look narrow, high and ugly. Would take the Tracker/Sidekick look over them anytime.
Since the Tracker / Sidekick are out of production, the Jimmy is better than nothing in that size range. The Rav4 has grown until it is rather large and heavy and doesn't get that great MPG.

There are several different models of the Rav 4, and I don't think any of them was/is a convertible. They are roughly equivalent to the Grand Vitara which is available in the US, but again, not as a two door, convertible.
the closest thing when it comes to size, MPG and having 4x4 are hatchbacks like the sx4 and toyota matrix but are nothing like the tracker or supposely mahindra is supposed to sell it's compact sized vehicles in the US.
