Default Improving power

Hey everyone I'm new so be kind!

I have an Aus 97 Suzi Vitara 2L V6 5 speed and I'm trying to do it up.
Does anyone know the best/most efficient way to give it more power?

I'm also looking into putting on large wheels n tyres and a lift. Any recommendations on sizes, brands etc?? I currently have 215/70 16s.

Thanks!!

WEll, I don't see too many posts here for the V6..compared to most of us with the 4cylinder 80 hp Vitara, I would envy the power you have already. I don't know too much about these engines, but sometimes a quick way to deal with better performance ( assuming that car is tuned up properly) is to deal with the exhaust - a high performance exhaust, headers, etc. Those performance chips you see on ebay are a no go, I think tricking the car to think it's running cold and therefore enriching fuel intake, etc. All sorts of problems happen with this.
Regarding your tires, probably the best standard lift is the Calmini. People here do suspension lift and/or body lift. For stock tires, the biggest without rubbing would be 225 (225/75 which I have on my car), but I must say that when increasing from the 215's I had on, I was able to feel the lift in the center of gravity of the car (or maybe it was just in my head...). Aside from the look, I would only do a lift if you're off-roading a lot. Also too you have to remember that after a certain point, you will have to extend harness steering, brake lines, etc. If you do a search on the forum, you will see tons of posts about tires and lifts. Without the lift, the 235's may rub during full turn, etc. Lots of talk here about loss of good gas mileage with the bigger tires, too.

Lucky guy with 95...My FSM says I have 80 hp at 5400 rpm. As I've never driven the car at 5400 rpm, I guess my actual horsepower ever worse than that...

How much power are you looking for? I can say not much with if you are on a budget. Power does not come easy and you have to give some to get some. For example, fuel mileage will decrese if gain few more HPs. Engine will not idle right if you set the engine for a high RPM powerband. Not even a chrome filter with foam at the end will do it, that gets dirty rather quick and chokes the intake, so you have to take care of it more often (maintenance).

Those are some examples.

You should speak with a guy called CJ. He's an Australian who posts on Zukiworld.com, he has a lot of experience with the V motors.
