PIA...

2wd to 4wd setups have different tailshaft lengths; many other things come into play too. You'll only get about 2-5 MPG difference really from my experience of how I drive both of them. To me the work involved, the MPG difference is something I can live with. If you find a 4x4 5-speed transmission then it would be easier, just be sure to get the clutch pedal and other stuff.

Auto and 5-speed have different tailshafts...

Automatic with 2wd is different than a 5-speed with 2wd, and vice-versa with the lengths. I would be a bit amused if that $35 manual does work. You are still missing the clutch pedal assembly and cable, transmission mounts are different too. And I hope this is a 4wd tranny that had 4wd too.
