Default Front sway bar removal?

I did a search and found only 1 post mention of it by 4njeep.

Has anybody thought of removing the front swaybar so the IFS can flex better/independently?

- On road characteristics?
- Off road characteristics?
- Any other issues this would cause?

I have a LowRange-Offroad Basic 2 Inch Spacer lift and with the strut spacers, 30x9.5 BFg A/T on Cragar 15x7 rims, and 91 Crown Vic rear shocks.

I've thought about it, my buddy took his off a '97 wrangler after I talked him out of buying the very expensive quick-disconnect type. His links broke several years ago so I told him, you've been driving around without the sway bar engaged for years... why do you need it now? i didn't think his jeep swayed very much, but his suspension is way more stiff than my tracker's
I'd say keep the speed under 50mph around clover-leaves and you'll be fine. Not sure how much more articulation you'll get out of if. Try disconnecting the links, driving around for a while, then make your decision. I've thought of doing this before, just never got around to it.

I've done this with a 2" lift, it makes the suspension softer off road. On road you will obviously get more body roll, I also got quite bad understeer. I ended up fitting 1 1/2" wheel spacers and that restored the handling to as it was with the ARB fitted. With the 3" Calmini kit it doean't make a lot of difference because the front springs are much stiffer.
Insurance companies don't like this mod.
