Default Dipstick...Oil level

I'm curious the amount of oil a 92 1.6L will take .. I did an oil change 5.2L is the amount I read .. it won't read on the dipstick is it the right dipstick? My dipstick is 13 inchs long past the plunger...? it doesn't even look like it will go into the oil pan ..?

Any ideas?

It might have been 4.2L then .. whatever the haynes manual says ...

the dipstick has no hashes for full or add etc...it only has two holes at the end......

Hole closest to end = low level,
second hole (upper) = full mark

not sure on what length you should have, are you sure there is no oil reaching the stick??

Also, are you sure you have stick in the whole way? My stick will only go completely down when it's inserted in one 'special' way. If stick is off of this angle, it goes in, but will not go the whole way down the shaft. You have the right stick - mine is 13 inches past the plunger too.

Sometimes clean oil in a relatively clean engine it hard to read on the dipstick.

On all my 8vs{3} you can only see the oil on one side of the dipstick, don't know why.The sticks all have to be put in just so.
I took the dipstick out of a 16v,it has a different end{the outside end}doesn't help, still oil on one side,I just like the look of it.
