While messin' around with clutch job, I found that my exhaust manifold has crack in between #3 and #4 cyl. Is this just a fluk or is this common? I would think a stock manifold (used) would be cheaper than the try Y Header. I would like the header but on a budget.

I have a 96 16v and my header is cracked as well about 1/2" up from where they meet. I don't see any carbon buildup or hear any audible leak but I'm sure its only a matter of time.
You can find them on ebay pretty easy. Saw one for under $70 a couple weeks ago (oddly enough, when I was also doing a clutch job, and noticed my manifold was cracked on numbers 1 and 4), then decided to get the Calmini stainless.
Then I just decided to pull the engine and do a gasket job. The Domino Effect in full force...
