Default Half shaft Info

Have replaced half shafts before on other cars and trucks, but not on a tracker\sidekick yet. Does shaft come out spendle or bottom ball joint has to be poped ?

it's lots of fun... I just did the right(USA passenger side) and I tried to get the ball joint off at the a-arm (castle nut) to no avail. I ended up taking/breaking off the three bolts that hold the ball joint to the a-arm, and the spindle to shock bracket. after that, it was a piece of cake. I kept telling myself it was a good time to replace crappy stock hardware with grade 8 anyway.
