Default Lights Pulsating

2003 Vitara 2.0l 4cyl. Car has had two alternators put on it, a new battery, a new positive cable harness, a new negative cable harness, new belts and tensioner. What happens is, is as the car is idling the lights both exterior and interior will pulsate and will increase with rpm. I have never seen this before and was wondering if there was anyone out there that has seen this.

Yes, I chased that problem for 6 months or so.

It finally came down to a bad battery, internal cell short.

What I found out on my Sidekick Sport after chasing this problem for months and checking and cleaning cables, connectors, etc was that I added an extra ground wire from battery to frame. This cured the flickering problem. Also did this on a Jeep Cherokee.

IT CAME THAT WAY?from SUZUKI ?
I bet not. and if not , you need to write up you modifications in detail and
then ask for help. why guess ?

tell us more facts and get good advice.

i can tell you for sure the ALternators regulator is going nuts,
but without a schematic , all answers are guessing.

if the Regulator sees the battery resistance rise , the voltage will rise. (up to a point)
this will make the HL , pulse.

this will be common fail on gel cell and or AGM , non flooded batteries.
they love to go dry on 1 cell. (varies by maker but is generally true)
do CCA test on the battery.

swap battery with a known good one , any time Alt, pulses.
same. then the battery cables (and interconnects) are resistive.

including the alternator brackets, the starter ground on the top bolt.
ADD your own heavy ground strap from the alternator bracket to the same starter main ground bolt ( 4-6 gage) same gage or bigger as the Alt, output lug. Salt belt mod.

the regulator constantly senses battery resistance, if anything , simulates this resistance and rises, the Alternator reg. preceives this and a discharged battery.
so it increase output.

if this resistance rises too far, the Reg. shuts down the ALT. (zero fieldv coil)
this prevents catastroplic destruction of all the electronics on the car.
ECU, radio, etc.

some ppl ask what is Salt belt.
well , that is for locations where there is tons of salt put on the roads and kills the car in short order. (just turn car upside down and look, see, horrible corrosion)
