Default 94 trans in a 96

i have a 96 16 valve 5 speed 4x4 .. i bought a parts 94 5 speed 8 valve 4 x4 for parts .. before i get carried away will the trannys inter change .. spline count ,, bell housing,, i believe they carry different clutch cable part numbers so its got me wondering .. also were their different final drive ratios differences regarding the transfer case's from year to year or model to model thanks russ

The tcases will physically swap. But the tcase output shaft spline counts differ.....89-95 output shafts are 26 spline.....96 and up output shafts are 16 spline.

so you will have to swap the yoke or whole shaft.
there are 2 shafts (rear prop shaft) and 1 mt (2dr/4dr) and 1 AT for 4door.

ok that makes sense . and sounds stronger .. how about the trannys them selves .. is it still a bolt in ??

i unerstand no changes. to mount up.
i know 8v and 16v have two diff diameter clutchdiscs.

even down to oldest models. i thing.
sammi's even use some parts of kicks.
