'96 thermostat/housing

So, my thermostat/hose is weeping (very slightly) at both the junction of the housing & the hose. Tried snugging the hose& housing bolts, it didn't help. The housing itself is pitted & I'm sure this is why it won't seal fully... so I ordered a new housing from SW Suzuki.
My question is: does the '96 1.6 16v only use the paper thermo gasket, or did they have both the paper & the deeper rubber gasket?? I think, reading Jerry's Kick-fix page, that the 16v only has the paper gasket, but just making sure. Thx.

easy, it uses only the rubber surround o-ring,
our car will run cold and like a sick pig. rich and low mpg, and cold heater.
not only that it will be cyclical, like the swells of the ocean, hot , cold .

only pre 96 , need inspection of pit size. per TSB.
