Exclamation Trying to sort an engine for my escudo HELP!!

Hi all,currantly have a 92 escudo 1.6 16V,the cylinder head is cracked and i need to sort an engine out,engine code is G16A,i need to know will the 1.6 16v from the 00 onwards vitara work in my escudo as in,are the cylinder heads and block the same so i can bolt my inlet and exhaust manifold to the newer engine???.as i may have one sorced.any help will be much apreciated.thank you.

any help guys?.or what do people normally do?.are all the 1.6 16v engines the same up through the years?

I'm pretty sure that the block is the same, I believe that the camshaft is different because the GV has a distributorless system

suzuki esteem

all wrecking yards have access to some really fancy and expensive data bases.
this data , shows exactly what is swappable.

also this information is on the .

do a search here, just about all swaps have been done here.

93 markets for zuks and i cant say i know them all, nor , dought others can.

I could swap over the cam shaft if thats the case and also on my engine the dizzy housing bolts off the end of the head,i wonder if its the same on the newer one.

Hi mate, my car is a 1992 Suzuki Escudo (Vitara), 5 Door, G16A 1.6 16valve Petrol with distributor ignition, Model E-TD01W.

Car thats in scrapper with engine is a 2002 Grand Vitara 1.6 16valve Short wheel base 3 door,dont know any more than that for now.

Also im in County Offaly.Ireland.
