Appreciate it guys, here's my problem. When I'm at a stop, I have pretty much no power from 1st to 2nd gear, but idles fine. I just replaced the distributor, could it be that I have two plug wires mixed up?? I tried looking on Chilton but that thing sucks, and doesn't tell me squat. Can anyone please post me an illustration of the distributor with each plug wire installed to it.
Sorry guys, I usually work on Mitsubishi's and Honda's and I don't know crap about Suzuki's. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.
Did your problem start when you replaced the distributor? Some people report that these engines will run with the distributor out 180 degrees, albeit, poorly.

I don't know, the vehicle was sitting for a week, all I did was check if the thing was getting spark or not. I set it to TDC before I removed it and checked it again when I installed it. Where I messed up at is forgetting where each plug wire went on the distributor cap, the part took so long to get here (Hawaii) I just forgot.
Depends on the valves. It is true TDC only for every other revolution.
TDC is top of compression stroke but some vehicles (other brands not necc, cars but cheap way to pass emissions by burning excess gas in exhaust) fire at both TDC`s so it wont matter with them.
I don`t know Zukes well yet so I will defer to the others to tell you for sure.
this is zuks only forum and for sure 1.6L 8v and 16v only.
we all know other cars and motors , vary all over the map.
my comments are to see that he doesnt time the dizzy on #4 , no other reason.
So would it be best if I removed the valve cover to set at TDC and check if rocker arms are free with no tension??
I think I may have set it to #4, my #1 spark plug is on at #4 and vice versa, and #2 and #3 are vice versa as well. When I switch it back to proper installment, the car will not start.
