Default 4wd conversion help

I am wondering if the tranny, trans. case and front axle etc. from an 89 Sidekick 2dr 4x4 will fit in my 97 sport 4dr 2wd? I have a chance to buy a running one for $425 locally.
Thanks

jumping 2 generations? 89>92>97 is problematic ,
as is the going from non-sport to sport. !

your car actually a 97 1.8 liter sport , DOHC ?

some dealers put sports stickers on 1.6L plain janes, see this.
wider body , many many differences and different splines on 97.

you can look up all the details here.
its all there, million words, and a great search engine, with stickies of this too.
