Default Wont start after engine is warm

I thought I posted here but cannot find post. I have a 95 Sidekick, automatic, 1.6L. After full operating temp, I can stop the engine. If I attempt to re-start, it is a slow crank to the point it sounds like a dead battery, 99 percent of the time not starting, acting as though the battery is dead. I was facing a store last time this happened. To troubleshoot, I turned on lights to see if there was a draw. I didnt see any although it wouldnt start for almost 20 minutes. I checked wires, even attempted to start it in neutral with no luck. After motor cools off, it starts no problem. I thought it may be battery but since I replaced it, the same issue. Anybody experience this issue? Any words or wisdom?

Is your temperature gauge working? Sounds like it`s getting too hot.

But it could still be battery wires and/or your starter. I would disconnect and clean all with wire brush and use grease prior to reassembly. Do you know for sure if the alternator is recharging the battery? By gauge or tester?

I will need to check. Battery posts were cleaned (and tight). This problem happened for at least 2 months, drove in the dark, etc so assuming it is recharging or battery would surely be dead (assumption). Started it this morning in the cold and it started quick, strong, flawless. Just happens after warm/operating temp. My temp gauge appears to be fine. Reaches half way mark as always starting at cold. I will check it this weekend when I can get under the hood. Any other things to look for while I am under it?
