Put it this way...

No car is theft proof. Just some are harder than others. The Tracker/Sidekick are too easy to break in.

The way to keep the idiots from messing with it, is by not making it too attractive.

Do not leave it with the keys on the ignition and watch were you park.

And,

Apply the best insurance you can if it is stolen or wrecked.

Then place a friendly sticker on the dash saying

"If you are driving this vehicle in any was aside from the owner willingly giving you the keys, please make sure it is burning in full flame, or is 100% totalled when you walk away". Enjoy your ride!!

I'm amazed at the attention my sidekick gets. No matter where I am, people are checking it out. Some of them are driving $45,000.00 vehicles driving by staring.

I can't imagine a Trackick needing an alarm. Aside from us few freaks that are into them for open air offroading I think most people look at them with disdain.

I never would have imagined myself having a Tracker or Sidekick. When I first saw the one I have now, I wanted it. They really aren't bad looking. The windshields a bit tall for my likings, but I have plans for that all the way around. Other plans too. See the topic "This Vitara makes me drool"

I can't believe I'm 48 and so fixed on this little thing.

Default bulldog 2010

I recently picked one up @ a Pep Boys for under 30 bucks! Awsome features, great transmitter, has a panic button and a finder too. Install was a two screws and a zip tie or two and...viola! my favorite is the current sensor which detects power drain ie. ignition and dome. Overall....eh it a little more piece of mind....?

Keith has it !

what you need?
contents protection ( rollex in console pit) Nikon D3x in back cargo , rolling about.

ahhaahahah

or just want car thieves stopped. ( cant stop a pro, )
and car alarm stops no one. ( tell me how listens, and try calling a cap for a car alarm, hahahahahah)

id use a hidden fuel pump kill switch. no more hot wire drive offs. stops em.

Most theives. work i pairs ,(ask a cop) and one pops the door as the other cuts
the horn wire in under 15seconds ( soundless)

dont take brains to figure out the delay on car alarms and learn what you need to do.

here are work we had our friends Lexus (new) who front end stolen off car.
in view of cams, police and people walking by full time.

the best tactic is , cover items with a black towel .
out of sight , out of mind. works perfect.

Lets avoid shot gunning or guessing or working with out tools. I will help you the best I can! I can't see or hear/feel your motor, so consider my answers, in that light. You can rent most tools.
There are 2 diagnostic paths, one with tools and one without! Which way?

the cheaper they are the sooner they fail.
buy a top brand and dont
DO NOT put it in
with :
  • wire nuts.
  • cannibal splices.
  • twist and tape.

do use, "
Quote:
cut. splice ,solder and heat shrink
".
then there is hope.
the fastest installers, all use crap methods. (haste makes, w.....)

IMHO. my 2 cents.
