Default Fuel pump Strainer replacement?

it's been a few days that I've been thinking replacing the fuel pump strainer just cause it maybe dirty and probably fuel not flowing as its supposed.Just wanted to know those of you that had done it how dirty it was, cause when i changed the fuel filter on my Kick the gas that poured for the inlet was completely brown that why i decided to drain the tank as much as i could.

I don't know if your fuel system is similar to the one on my 89 Tracker, but here is my experience. When I bought my Tracker several months ago, it had a non-working fuel pump. When I dropped the tank to replace the pump, I discovered that everything inside the tank was badly rusted. I ended up replacing the tank and the entire fuel pump assembly. ... My advice is to be prepared to do more than just replace the strainer if you drop the tank and look inside.

that's exactly what I'm thinking i may not like what's inside but better safe than sorry i don't think all that rust/dirt is any good for the fuel system specially injectors

the rust , can be so tiny it goes thru the filter. in front of tank.
and then hits poor injectors.

Lets avoid shot gunning or guessing or working with out tools. I will help you the best I can! I can't see or hear/feel your motor, so consider my answers, in that light. You can rent most tools.
There are 2 diagnostic paths, one with tools and one without! Which way?
