it is physically damaged if injectors were squirting with key on, not running.

one wire is power ,key on, see my schematic ,its clear.
so if you have a connector with fryed wires in it , it will cross over ( give time)
and will squirt for ever.

you need to find out where the damage is . and correct it.
IMHO all you did is wiggle it and temporarally fix it.

look for copper strand frays .

Lets avoid shot gunning or guessing or working with out tools. I will help you the best I can! I can't see or hear/feel your motor, so consider my answers, in that light. You can rent most tools.
There are 2 diagnostic paths, one with tools and one without! Which way?

so its is not a leaker but a dead injector.?
Corrosion = dead
shorted they leak.
1 dead injectors cause that cylincer to pump just air.
this air hits O2 sensor.
then
O2 read LEAN ,
and then ECU throw more fuel and all cylinders flood.

these cars (all EFI CARS) are demons. in this way.

you must have had a huge leaks antifreeze or something these connectors have gold contacts and never fail.(nice seal too) I think its a case of collatoral damage, id inspect them all for contamination. The seal needs to be lubed with Silicon grease.
this will keep fresh and supple and seal well.

thanks for share, very interested in injector fails of any kind.
great diagnostic work btw !!
cheers.

PS: this is the Achilles' heel , of EFI.

ECU assumes all cylinders fire. if one more dont?, it slams its face into a left hook.
ie: it does the opposite and wrong thing. throws more fuel.
