Condenser Fan Removal

What is the proper sequence for removing the A/C condenser fan? I have a '96 Sidekick 4dr. with the 1.6L engine.

My manual simply says to remove the grille and bumper and slide the unit out. I have removed the grille, and can unbolt the fan unit. It does not appear as though there is enough room to remove the unit upwards or downwards, so I am reluctant to go through the trouble of removing the bumper to experiment. Does the radiator and condenser need to be removed first? Geez, I hope not!

Okay, I figured out my own answer. Forget the manual, the top cross member (where the hood latch mounts) can be unbolted and removed allowing the fan to lift out easily.
