Default Halo SparkPlugs - Member Feedback Only Please

While doing a bit of searching through the archives (search engine), I found a thread concerning gas mileage. A member stated significant increase in gas mileage was noted after installing Halo Spark Plugs.

Has anyone else tried these? Let me know.

Here's the other thread --> http://www.suzuki-forums.com/suzuki-...ed-my-mpg.html

I'm not willing to light a fire with a $42.00 bill just to say I did. Was hoping others who have could share their thoughts.

Hello. For what it is worth, several years and about 50,000 miles ago, I installed the Bosch Platinums with the 4 electrodes (do not recall the exact product name). I have suffered no degradation in performance since then, and the idle remains significantly smoother than the previous NGKs. I believe they were about $5 each at that time.

I tried the Bosch +4 a cple of yrs ago, and consistently found cracked insulators, sent the plugs back to the Bosch Lab for testing, their reply "must be the engine"

Have used NGK Platinum, and have not experienced any cracked insulators prior to or after the Bosch.

Also tried the Bosch in our Explorers, encountered missfires. They have a waste spark system.

Yeah, reminds me of the problems with the standard Bosch platinums from years past- if I recall, the electrodes were somehow breaking off. I had been using them for years with no problems since they first came out. But I quit when I heard of the electrode problems.

Now, I will probably stick with the Bosch +4 plugs on my Sidekick. My friend is using them on his 94 16 valve sidekick, and having a good experience too. In a way, this reminds me of the situation with computer components. Across the board, somewhere around 10-15% of the buyers will have significant problems with a purchased component. Clearly, a certain percentage of anything man-made will prove inadequate or defective- matters not what brand or manufacturer.

if as the poster said.
car goes from 30mpg to 37mpg ( no proof just a wild claim)
course he never said how many tanks were averaged or nothing, just the bold claim.

if this claim is true , what do you think would happen.?
every car maker would sell them on all cars across the board, ever heard of CAFE , ever see how much it cost to comply with that?
so imagine a set of plugs saving your company million$ in one instant. ( what a hero youd be huh?)

if it sounds too good to be true ,it probably is.

next. proof.
if it does work ,
all sparkplug companies would copy it in a second. right?
better yet , copy it and and improve it. and give a new name.

fact is your plugs are designed to work with your 50kv system you have now and burn all the fuel it can.
remember , the spark only starts the event, it don't keep it going.

that is a key point. (not talking special lean burn cars at all)

so on a new car, if it is not throwing pending misfires (low level) then it is not misfiring.
if its not, then the spark is working as designed.

keep this in mind. 50kv will jump the gap every time no matter how many ground points you have.
so long as its not fouled or mis-gapped.

High energy ignition. (if it aint broke don't fix it.)

id put in a good set of platinum's and be happy.

Id never believe any claim for 30 to 37 ,unless the test data was shown.
all of it, and independent proof. on a dyno.
SHOW ME ,I'm FROM Missouri !!!

I have a scan tool that can log mPG.
I too can get 40mpg

but, i can not drive up hills
I can not down shift. (stuck in 5th gear forever)
I can not stop
I can not go slower or faster than 45mph.

so ,see i can tell you any mpg from 1 to 40 and not be lying.
context is everything.

Gas mileage varies. YMMV. ahahahahaha

you want a HALO report , google it.

im sure there are a million words written and not 1 page of proof . (scientific measurments)

the are REvolutionaRY. scary idea that is....
they may be devine !
how they effect the flame front , is UNKNOWN.

Quote:
reduces hydrocarbons 35%
from what, the glove box?

reading the:
the actual on line halo report.
Quote:
The agencies are not disclosed at this time for legal reasons.
that is #1 BS meter , pegged ,red alert on the BS meter.! what a crock.

all the tests were unscientific and the exact details were not disclosed.
using old cars is NOT scientific. (do your research)

the only legal EPA way (science way) is to use new cars and to have them
carefully tuned and evaluated that the car is running correctly.
and then establishing a base line. (this is called Prequalification and is very expensive)

then the cars must be Dyno tested under very controlled conditions.
controlled temps, humidity ,etc.
and the conditions must be stated and logged and reported.

zippo.

I say SNAKE OIL.

IMHO, YMMV, its your nickle (or $50)
