I took my Sidekick off road and drove it in 4Hi out in the desert in Barstow (so cal) for about a half hour. I gotta say it was fun. The sand was was loose and deep in a lot if places, and there were a lot of dry streams I crossed. The best thing about it was that the Sidekick is so narrow and has such a short wheelbase it was easy to get in between bushes and make quick tight turns. Every time branches scraped the sides I'd think "so what - it's a '95 with faded (and now scratched) paint anyway".
I don't think I drove straight more than 10 feet at any stretch.
