Default No Start

So I bought a 94 2 door, auto. I assume it is an 8 valve.
Does not run. Tried to get it going today, no luck. I have spark, but engine was torn apart before i bought it so might be wrong order.
Have 150 psi compression across all cylinders. When i disconnect fuel line from FI return to tank i get fuel spray out, but the plugs seem to come out dry when cranking it over.
So here is the question, if my ECM is cooked, would it stop the flow of fuel to the injectors?
Am I able to bypass it in any way? What in the ecm needs to be repaired?
Thanks

try test fuel.
squirt instant start into evap nipple on intake. or down air horn (harder)
if it goes verreeeemommmm and dies and sounds real good. then
the motor is sound.
if not dizzy was timing wrong or backwards
is my guess. based on teardown comment.

compression is ok on 8v.

ecu , can kill spark for 2 reason (inputs wrong)
and can go bad ,by having bad injector driver (rare)
or have bad capacitors that love to leak. very common.

test fuel is next for sure.

cheers.

lets fix it.

ill play with the fuel thing tommorow. Ive taken apart the cpu and all looks good. but that does not mean much. no evidence of leakage and overheating anywhere. will keep updated.

ok, so here is an update.
I pulled the timing cover and all is good. Timing sprockets line up.
When I compare the distributor rotor when the sprockets are at TDC the rotor is completley past the #1 post. Should the rotor be dead center of the post?
On a positive note, I pulled the fuel injector and the pin on the bottom was stuck. After unsticking It should only move around 0.030" right? Resistance check on injector was good. Installed fuel injector and cranked engine and got fuel spray. YAY
When I cranked the engine to try and start it I would get a firebal out the intake after several seconds of cranking. Also leading me to believe the timing is out.
Can someone please confirm firing order of distributor. Looking at distributor front left corner 3,4,2,1 clockwise?
Thoughts.

let me explain.

if the crank key is , sheared then timing marks are just useless.
if that is true, the looking at them , is wasted effort. (just a heads up on this common problem .)

the bottom key, on the crank must be PEFECTLY straight up , at the same time as the bottom cog , pointer is straight up , and pointing to the oil pump TDC mark.
3 things on the crank MUST line up. if they dont the key or the keys slot is mangled.

if i found my IGNITION timing , to suddenly be way off, id panic and not run the motor.
surely..
it dont just get up one morning and say , gee, it think ill drive my owner crazy and jump 10 degrees off. (but in your case, your PO might have been Guessing)

it goes off for only 2 reasons.
belt slip a cog.
or
key way munged, on the crank.
or
crazy PO (prev. owner,sorry)

This is the 1 photo that counts.
http://www.kick-fix.com/t-belt/16v-cog-crank-off.jpg

see the key , see the white arrow , this dont lie.

if the cog is timed correctly
and the belt and cam is timed correctly
and the dizzy is off ( timing IGN way off) then someone timed the dizzy with the cam timed wrong.

time to punt.
start at square one.

more photos that can help.

actual 8v;

http://www.kick-fix.com/t-belt/crank-cog-8v.jpg

http://www.kick-fix.com/t-belt/snout.jpg

on some motors.
if you take off the big 17mm flanged blot above
you can not see the key way. unless you pull the cog.
the 16v is always viewable with bolt off.

Now for you:

check the belt timing.
if the belt is timed at the 4 points.
next pull the 17mm bolt.
try to look at the keyway, see if it points straight up exactly.

8v
firing order.
1,3,4,2, and the ROTOR rotates CCW.

ok.

compression is good.
just retime the dizzy and pray
but first torque the crank snout to 94ft/lbs , in the hope it is still good .

How to set ignition timing

break a leg , and WELCOME !!!

ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After doing some further reading, I switched the plug locations on the rotoe. Switched opposite corners. And shebam she started. Didnt let it run more than a couple seconds cause there is no coolant in it, but it started right up and ran nicely.
Thanks for the help everyone. Will keep you posted if anything rears its ugly head.
