Default Remove Dash

I am trying to remove the dash to install a new wiring harness for a 4WD, 4 speed aUto trans.. I have a 1996 Geo Treaker, 2dr, 4WD. I have removed the screws from the top and what I can find on the bottom. I took out the glove box and removed those screws. It seems free on the top but in binding in the middle. Can anyone help me with this. I would appreciate it. THANKS

I have the same question...

One of my coworkers told me about the AC controls. Some about the cable that controls the baffles.

Also told me that is easy to remove and a big pain in the rear to put together.

I found 4 screws you have to take out from the back with a short screwdriver, now it seems to be stuck in the passanger side in the area of the air bag. I'm still looking.I'm going to Shreveport tomorrow someone is removing the harness from another 96 for me, if he has to remove the dash I'll see how he does it. I'll be glad to share anything I find out.

It would be interesting to learn how to remove the dash. I have a water leak I would like to fix that has something to do with the air chamber under the wipers. I got it mostly fixed with sealant in that chamber, but not completely yet. It caused the deterioration of the OD off wiring between the shifter and the TCM, and when it rained it would slam in and out of 4th gear, very upsetting and hard on the occupants. I ran new wire, OK now, but I still want to fix the leak.

I will follow your thread here, thanks

Did you take out the part that covers the heater and radio? There are two screws or pop outs at the top of the vents,Then pull off your knobs on the heater and pull off the faceplate. There are a couple behind that and one over the ashtray at the bottom. Be careful the cover can bust easily. Idon't think you have to take out the radio but its easier to get it unplugged.

Yes, I have also done that, those screws on top are only viewable if you rotate the dash AC vents to see them. The radio is easy to remove, so that's a good idea.
